The Bridal Finery real bride, Jenn shares how she found her wedding dress, her experience at The Bridal Finery, and tips for other brides.
Congratulations to the real bride, Jenn who said ‘I do’ in Arizona. We loved her classic wedding gown paired with her whimsical venue. A bride’s wedding dress is a garment she should feel beautiful & one a kind in. Every bride should feel the way Jenn felt in her gown.
Loved for their casual, laid-back feel and personality-capturing details, boho weddings are among the top trends in wedding planning. That doesn’t mean that the boho bride risks staging a run-of-the-mill wedding. Bohemian weddings are all about the individual. The perfect boho wedding captures the free-spirited, convention-defying attitude of the bride and groom. And because of the emphasis on individual tastes and personal touches, no two boho weddings are alike.
Consider an allover lace pattern dress that has the illusion of lace appliques for half the price.
Talk about turning heads. This year, romantic details are going big and going bold! These corsetry-inspired details evoke a Victorian flair with exposed boning and nude fabric buttons.
While the days of chunky “bling” on wedding dresses may be behind us, the sparkle is trending for 2020, and we couldn’t be more excited! This time around, we’re seeing a more textural take on shiny beading, sequins, and glitter that lies somewhere between an ethereal mermaid goddess and an edgy glam rockstar.
What was your experience like at The Bridal Finery?
Tali, Roberta and everyone at The Bridal Finery are amazing! I came to them three weeks before my out-of-state wedding panicked because my original dress was no longer an option for me to wear. They truly saved the day! Tali was beyond patient and kind.
So if there is no true boho wedding style, what qualifies as a boho wedding? In general, boho weddings tend to be more casual weddings with food and décor that directly reflects the tastes of the bride and groom. If you’re looking to plan your boho wedding, here are the details you should be looking at.
Choose your favourite! If delicate details are more you style, try a simple sheath complete with a side slit and romantic eyelash trim. Layer on the lace with a long sleeve, allover lace style with pretty scalloped pattern. With these dresses, you get all of the romantic details at a price you will love. Or, choose a more contemporary update with a chic banding feature along your waistline and lower back—enwrapping the waistline to enhance your figure while offering a chic, modern twist to a timeless style. Of course, with graphic laces in all the right places—these silhouettes provide the perfect coverage while bringing out your love for detail (and your sexy side).
If our recent Pinterest searches tell us anything, brides are fully on-board with cascading lace trains in 2020. Whether your style is free-spirited, elegant, or ultra-glam, there’s a wedding dress with a lace train for you!
She let me ask a million questions, and I could tell I had in-depth knowledge and experience in bridal fashion. Even before I had tried a dress on, Tali could say to me how the dress would look and fit on me. As a details person myself, I was blown away by how they had thought of everything.
CREATING YOUR BOHEMIAN BRIDAL LOOK
When planning a wedding, nearly every bride starts with the wedding dress, and the boho bride is no exception. Just like there are no wedding conventions that fall into the Bohemian category, there are no guidelines for finding a boho wedding dress.
Time to make a statement (while staying under budget). Layered fabric and stunning details are what you will find at this price point! These styles have the trendiest features from illusion bodices (for that barely-there look) to serious sparkle (whether it’s just the bodice, the waist, or allover). It’s the embellishments, and elevated fabrics make these dresses to the next level, incorporating beautifully crafted details into each dress for an eye-catching look, all while keeping costs budget-friendly.
Are you looking for something a little more classic? Look no further. Bridal fashion is all about more significant, better volume this season—and what better way to capture this trend than in a ballgown or A-line style? Style 7012 is a subtle, floral dream with an off-shoulder neckline and slight pink undertone for the blushing bride.
If you’re not feeling a bright white dress for your wedding, you’re in luck! Non-white dresses are IN for 2020 — and there are so many to choose from! Choose something subtle like a silver or blush tinted tulle or go bold in multi-coloured embroidery.
Need some Spanx? Sure, let me get your size from the back! Want to try in earrings? Here let me get an alcohol pad to clean them off first. There is no detail too big or too small for them. They use that approach when working a bride also. During my last fitting, Tali and their amazing seamstress stood there debating if I should keep or remove a single button on the back of the dress.
In general, boho brides usually opt for more casual or non-formal wedding dresses. That means less structured wedding dresses without internal corsets, built-in hoops or crinoline. Here are some boho wedding dress ideas:
At this price point, you can find all the added detail and artistry you’re looking for! Intricate handcrafted touches and layers (upon layers) of luxe fabric make these dresses well worth their price. Styles with dramatic skirts and cascading tulle each adorned with over thousands of beads, crystals, and sequins will make you feel like a million bucks on your big day! Find our most opulent styles for your big day in all shapes and sizes! Need a Wedding Hair Salon to perfect your already perfect look? Boutique events group has you covered.
For a full-on princess statement, Style 6993 is the perfect silhouette for sweeping you off your feet as you embark on your modern fairytale. Layers of lush tulle create a full, billowing shape without the weight—so you’ll feel like dancing from dawn til dance floor.
Two of the most romantic styles collide in this trend where sweetheart necklines meet off-the-shoulder sleeves. This silhouette is flattering for all body types and adds a dose of romance to your wedding day outfit. We love a lace gown for a vintage-inspired look and crepe for a more modern take on the silhouette!
I never felt rushed, judged or forced into something that didn’t fit my personality. I loved each of my shopping and fitting sessions – so much so that I want them to hire me!
Flowing wedding fabrics
Whether more formal or more casual, boho wedding dresses always incorporate flowing materials. The dress itself can be long and free-flowing, or it can be more fitted with flowing elements, such as a bell or peasant sleeves, off-the-shoulder ruffles, a light-weight train or a tiered skirt.
No matter what your style or budget is, you can still find the wedding dress of your dreams! Are you interested in seeing more wedding dresses for every budget? Book an appointment at your local David’s Bridal to try some on or find even more styles online!
Minimalism gets a major glow-up this season, between flirty ballgowns and sexy fit-and-flare. Style 6988 turns up the volume with flirty tiers of layered tulle, finished with horsehair banding to maintain its bouncy structure–paired perfectly with a sleek bodice of thin straps and plunging V-neckline with mirroring V-side cutouts.
Architecturally-inspired tailored crepe wedding dresses are popping up in just about every bridal collection this year, and it’s easy to see why. These gowns are the epitome of sophistication and can be worn beautifully as-is or accessorized with minimalist jewellery to playing up the clean structural lines and low-key feminine edge.
I wish The Bridal Finery had been my only bridal shopping experience. However, it was truly meant to be since they weren’t even open when I was initially shopping for my dress. The Bridal Finery has already made ripples in the bridal fashion market and is going to continue to do so for many years to come.
Lace, embroidery or crochet wedding gowns
Textured elements are a must-have for boho wedding dresses. These soft, textured details can relax the overall look of a dress to create a non-formal wedding dress. Conversely, lace or embroidery can add a bit of luxury to a more casual wedding dress style.
If you want something a little more sultry, meet Style 6648. Ultra-cool and unexpected, graphic lace details perfectly offset the cleanliness of the fabric, adding dimension and eye-catching detail.
Whimsical brides — this one for you! Add a little something unexpected to your bridal look without having to accessorize by choosing a gown with a textured illusion overlay. From 3D floral appliqués to bohemian embroidery to sequin stars, your sleeves can make a significant style statement
Not only have they changed how dresses are sold with their off-the-rack inventory – but they have made the entire experience enjoyable and unforgettable!
How much or how little detail a boho wedding dress has depends on the bride: Some brides opt for dresses that are full-on lace or have a crochet overlay, while other boho brides prefer a simple lace wedding dress.
This 2020 wedding dress trend isn’t necessarily part of the wedding dress (though it can be!), but it’s something you should consider to finish off your wedding day look. A cape adds a dose of drama in a modern way that your guests won’t be able to stop complimenting!

How did you know you found your wedding dress?
Having found what, I thought was “the one”, many months earlier, I walked into The Bridal Finery not expecting to find anything. I was blown away by the variety and volume of inventory. I tried on a handful of dresses, but when I put on Mercer Sareh Nouri it was an out of body experience.
Wedding dress separates.
Wedding dress separates are one of the hottest trends, particularly for brides seeking boho wedding dress ideas. A looser fitting top and a flowing, or even a short, skirt are perfect for a bride seeking a casual wedding dress. A bride planning a more formal boho wedding can pair a more fitted, detailed bodice with a full, flowy skirt to honour the idea of a boho wedding dress.
I suddenly felt like a bride. It’s very cliché to say, but it’s true. All of the dresses are beautiful, well made gowns. So it’s hard to pick out which one is the most beautiful, but when you put the right one on – you know.
Because Bohemian weddings are all about expressing the individuality of the bride and groom, some sort of stunning detail is a must for a boho wedding dress. These details can include a plunging back, intricate straps, an unusual neckline or even a coloured or floral-patterned wedding dress.
What is one tip for a bride in search of finding her wedding dress?
Looking back, there are two things that I wish I had known before I started dress shopping. First, find a bridal shop that you are comfortable with. I had a miserable experience at a high-end, well-known shop where my consultant kept putting me in gowns that were the exact opposite of what I’d told her I wanted.
The bride can top her chosen look with a flower crown, for a more casual wedding, or accessorize with beautiful, vintage-inspired jewellery. Brides who want a casual boho wedding might decide to go barefoot or wear simple sandals. Statement or vintage shoes also can help a boho bride create a unique wedding look.
